Explanation of Condition

Infection of the gut caused by the parasite giardia lamblia. Causes abdominal pain, bloating and diarrhoea. More common in areas of poor sanitation, it may nonetheless be found in water sources around the world, where it is commonly transmitted through contamination by faeces from an infected human or other animal.

Guidance

Local intestinal infection which does not affect donation.
