Acceptability at Recruitment

Acceptability at CT / Work-Up

NOT ACCEPTABLE, but see below.

Donors with malignancy or with a history of malignancy must not donate.

There are two exceptions to this:

1. Cured cervical carcinoma in-situ is acceptable with 2 subsequent normal smears. Due to EU legislation other carcinoma in situ is unacceptable.

2. Successfully and completely treated basal cell carcinoma


In the above cases, these conditions must always be communicated to the requesting transplant centre.
