Explanation of Condition
Low haemoglobin, either because of blood loss or a problem in the production of red blood cells.
Guidance
Low haemoglobin. Always establish cause. Refer to MO.
Do not accept if Hb <13g/L for males, and <11g/L for females, unless easily remediable without transfusion, e.g. iron deficiency.
