For Bone Marrow - donors willing to donate BM and who wish to resume breastfeeding post donation, should wait for at least 24 hours after the last dose of anaesthetic was administered, to avoid transfer it to the baby (general anaesthesia may cause severe events in the baby).

For PBSC - donors willing to donate PBSC should stop breastfeeding prior to the first dose of G-CSF and resume it at least 48 hours after the last dose has been administered, also to avoid contact of the baby with G-CSF. The safety profile of G-CSF has not been tested during pregnancy thus the it is unknown whether baby is at risk of adverse events.
