Explanation of Condition
Pre-cancerous cells found in the uterine cervix. These may be removed surgically, or treated with laser or cryo (cold) therapy.
Guidance
Acceptable if removed surgically, or with cryo/laser therapy, with histologically confirmed cervical carcinoma in-situ (Cervical Intra-epithelial Neoplasia (CIN) 1,2 or 3), with two subsequent normal smears.
Spontaneous remission is also acceptable if there are two subsequently normal smears.
