Explanation of Condition
Small outpouchings (diverticula) of the large bowel which may become impacted with faeces and become infected, leading to diverticulitis.Generally a condition of the elderly.
Guidance
Acceptable at recruitment. Allow 2 weeks between complete recovery and completion of antibiotic therapy before donation.
