Explanation of Condition
Any episode of acute liver infection/inflammation for which a cause can not be found.
Guidance
Acceptable 24 months after recovery.
If more than 12 months from recovery, but less than 24, accept if all serological markers for hepatitis B are negative, or if HB core antibody is positive, HB surface antigen is negative and HB surface antibody is >100 at some point. Discuss with medical officer.
Unacceptable if less than 12 months from recovery.
