Autoimmune condition leading to destruction of platelets. Severe types may lead to life-threatening bleeding as a consequence.

Childhood disease

Acceptable If single episode of ITP as a child with complete resolution

Adult disease

Acceptable for BM only if more than 6 months from complete rceovery (platelet count <150).

Unacceptable if chronic or has required multiple lines of therapy

Unacceptable if recurrent ITP.

If received IVIG then see Transfusion.

Inform transplant centre in every case.
