Explanation of Condition

Autoimmune condition leading to destruction of platelets. Severe types may lead to life-threatening bleeding as a consequence.

Guidance

Discuss with medical officer

Acceptable if more than 6 months from full resolution (platelet count <150).

Unacceptable if recurrent ITP.

If received IVIG then see Transfusion.

Inform transplant centre in every case.
