Guidance

Ascertain if underlying deep vein thrombosis.

Unacceptable if more than one episode in twelve months.

Acceptable if fully resolved and more than one week since completing antibiotics, and if antecubial fossae (inside of elbows) are unaffected.

Discuss with medical officer if necessary.
