Mild or moderate cases acceptable for BMH. May be acceptable for PBSC and this should be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Autoimmune condition causing scaling and redness of the skin, in characteristic patches.

Guidance
Unacceptable if severe or widespread, or has ever suffered from psoriatic arthritis (joint involvement). Unacceptable if has received more than one course (up to three months) of UV treatment. Unacceptable if less than 1 year since completing course of systemic immunosuppression.
Mild and moderate cases, treated with topical therapy (tar, creams etc...) or a single course of UV therapy (PUVA) are acceptable for BM only and may be acceptable for PBSC on a case-by-case basis and following discussion with donor regarding possibility of exacerbation.
Retinoic acid derivatives such as acitretin are acceptable, as long as the appropriate time period has passed since their administration and donation. See Retinoic Acid Derivatives.
