Guidance

Unacceptable

Recognised thrombophilia in association with at least one episode of thrombosis;

Recognised protein C, protein S or antithrombin deficiency, even if the donor themselves has not suffered from thrombosis;

Proven Anti-Phospholipid Syndrome


Acceptable

Thrombophilia other than protein C, protein S or antithrombin deficiency, with no documented history of thrombosis;

Family history of thrombosis with any thrombophilia other than protein C, protein S or antithrombin deficiency.
