As a general rule, where an experimental agent (such as a drug, or vaccine) has been given, a minimum deferral period of three years applies. After this period, a donor may be considered if they are well and safety data on the relevant agent has been published and is acceptable. <br />

Donors participating in non-interventional trials, or in interventional trials where a agent that already has an established safety record is used, may donate providing that they are not excluded for other reasons<br />
