Explanation of Condition
A group of drugs used to treat a number of inflammatory conditions, such as acne or psoriasis.
However, they can cause severe congenital defects if given to pregnant women.
Guidance
Generally unacceptable if ever taken Etretinate (Tigason).
Acceptable: Donors having taken, or currently taking, acitretin (Neotigason) or Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) may join the register.
- At VT/Work up, must inform transplant centre if a donor is taking any of these medications, or has done so at any point in the last 12 months.
