Explanation of Condition
The parathyroid gland controls levels of calcium in the body. High parathyroid hormone levels cause high blood calcium, which can lead to kidney problems, constipation, depression and confusion.
Guidance
Acceptable if mild or surgically resected parathyoid adenoma.
Unacceptable if due to malignancy.
