Type of drug used as a pain-killer.

Guidance

Establish reason for taking, and check this is not a cause for exclusion.

Donors should not use aspirin for seven days prior to donation.

NSAIDs should be stopped 24 hours prior to harvest.

NSAIDs may be recommenced immediately post-harvest. However, aspirin should be avoided for three days post bone-marrow harvest, and for one week if a donor has a documented thrombocytopenia (<80 x10^9) after PBSC harvest.
