Explanation of Condition
Operation creating a communication between the small bowel (ileum) and the abdominal wall, forming a stoma, through which faeces may be collected in a bag. Most commonly formed after bowel cancer operations.
Guidance
Establish reason. Unacceptable if for malignancy or inflammatory bowel disease.
