Guidance
Establish underlying cause and results of any investigations. Discuss with MO who should follow the flowchart for haematuria.
A donor with an intrauterine coil who shows haematuria on a urine dipstick or microscopy can still be cleared, as intrauterine coils are known to cause spotting.
In donors who are menstruating and whose urine dipstick demonstrates haematuria, a repeat urine dipstick should be undertaken once their period has finished.
