Explanation of Condition
Deficiency of an enzyme important in providing energy to cells, particularly red blood cells. Sufferers are prone to breakdown of red blood cells when exposed to certain drugs or other physiological stresses.
Guidance
Unacceptable if severe. If mild may donate but discuss with anaesthetist and inform transplant centre.
