Explanation of Condition
Viral liver infection transmitted, usually, through contaminated food or water supplies. It is particularly common in less developed countries, but also found throughout the developed world. The illness is self limiting and there is no risk of long-term infection or carriage of the virus.
Guidance
Acceptable if more than 12 months from recovery, or more than 12 months from recovery of partner.
If a member of the household is infected, again donation must be deferred until 12 months after recovery.
