Explanation of Condition
A group of drugs used to treat a number of inflammatory conditions, such as acne or psoriasis.
However, they can cause severe congenital defects if given to pregnant women.
Guidance
Generally unacceptable if ever taken Etretinate (Tigason). Allow 12 months after taking acitretin (Neotigason) and 4 weeks after Isotretinoin (Roaccutane).
However, these time periods may be shortened at the discretion of the transplant centre.
