Explanation of Condition
Osgood-Schlatter disease is a common cause of knee pain in growing adolescents, caused by repetitive stress on the tibial tubercle where the patellar tendon attaches. It often occurs during growth spurts and activities that involve running or jumping, leading to pain, swelling, and a bony bump just below the kneecap.
Guidance
Acceptable if symptoms are not preventing or impacting daily activities.
