Explanation of Condition
Pre-cancerous cells found in the uterine cervix. These may be removed surgically, or treated with laser or cryo (cold) therapy.

Guidance at VT
Acceptable if removed surgically, or with cryo/laser therapy, with histologically confirmed cervical carcinoma in-situ (Cervical Intra-epithelial Neoplasia (CIN) 1,2 or 3) with a normal smear following treatment and donor is back on the routine screening programme.
Spontaneous remission is also acceptable if the donor has had a normal smear test and is back on the routine screening programme.
