Acceptability at Recruitment

ACCEPTED - donor must be informed that they may require a central line at donation - for upper limb differences only.

Acceptability at VT / Work-Up

At VT consider cause and discuss with medical team. At work up - on a case by case basis in discussion with collection centre.

Donor should be made aware that they may not be able to proceed depending on review at medical appointment.

A limb difference is a term used to describe an arm or leg that is shaped differently or functions in a unique way compared to the typical human anatomy. This includes limbs that are missing, underdeveloped, malformed, or have a significant size difference.
