Explanation of Condition
Hair loss. There are many causes, such as hereditary hair loss or related to sex hormones (particularly testosterone).
Another form of alopecia is alopecia areata, a condition causing patchy hair loss that may be autoimmune in origin.
Guidance
If Alopecia Areata - Acceptable for BM and consider PBSC on a case-by-case basis and following discussion with donor regarding possibility of exacerbation. Inform TC at VT/workup if donor has alopecia areata.
If other non-autoimmune causes acceptable for BM and PBSC
