Explanation of Condition
A group of drugs used to treat a number of inflammatory conditions, such as acne or psoriasis.
However, they can cause severe congenital defects if given to pregnant women.
Guidance
Generally unacceptable if ever taken Etretinate (Tigason). Donors having taken, or currently taking, acitretin (Neotigason) or Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) may join the register.
At CT, inform the transplant centre if a donor is taking these medications, or has done so at any point in the last 12 months.
