Explanation of Condition

Hypoadrenalism - failure of cortisol (natural steroid) production by the adrenal glands. The most common cause worldwide is tuberculosis, but in the developed world autoimmunity is most common. May also occur following surgical removal of the adrenal glands, or post-partum (Shehan's necrosis).

Unacceptable risk to donor. Risk of transmission to recipient.
