Explanation of Condition

Antibiotic-resistant form of the common skin bacteria staphylococcus aureus. It is generally only a problem in hospital where it may cause deep set infections or sepsis that can be difficult to treat with conventional antibiotics.

Guidance

Inform harvest centre and transplant centre, but otherwise acceptable if colonised.

If active infection, allow two weeks from recovery and completion of antibiotics, whichever is the later.
